North Beach Quilting
Dana grew up in Kenai, Alaska spending nearly every day at her grandparent's fabric store, Kenai Fabric Center, where her mother and aunt also worked. After attending a semester of art study in Florence, Italy Dana came back home to Alaska and pursue a BA in Anthropology. She continued to take many art classes however throughout her college years: photography, painting (oil and watercolor), art history and pottery. Dana also began working part time at the fabric store with her family.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude she began a career in the museum/archives field as well as employing her linguistics training. Dana continued to help make samples for my family's store and in 2007 decided to try my hand at designing. She now does this full time from her home in Kenai.
Dana began designing raw-edge applique quilt patterns in her spare time in 2007 while working as an Archivist/Language Program Coordinator for the Kenaitze Indian Tribe. Dana's designs are inspired by her home State of Alaska, and the places she has traveled.
