North Beach Quilting

Evon Zerbetz carves with gouges and knives to create her bold imagery in slabs of linoleum. She is passionate about the lines, chop, and hatch marks that are created with a knife and make the artwork for the Sea Life collection distinct. Her projects have ranged from a 9 x 65 foot wall of architectural art glass for the Alaska State Library, suspended sculptures in busy public buildings, to linocuts for health posters that might be push-pinned to a clinic’s wall. Evon's linocuts have illustrated an armload of children’s books, rolled down the road on a mobile science exhibit on wheels, informed 12 public art installations, and formed the basis for a multimedia traveling exhibit about ravens. She works in her studio nestled between the tall trees of her island community of Ketchikan, Alaska.
